Education of the prohibition era and causes, effects, and so on about the personality that was the pre/during/post prohibition age of America. WEB will speak at each event on different aspects that the film will be talking about.

Promoting community involvement and support of public broadcasting.

We’re very selective about who we get involved with per fundraising and events such as this. It happens to be a great fit this time.

partnering on Prohibition

Kari at SOPTV is on top of the details, public broadcasting is something WEB supports, and it’s a terrific opportunity to partner with a very visible community member on a topic near and dear to our WEB heart.

Message today: There are many ways to get involved with causes you support and benefit as well. All profits will go to the station, we cross market for each other thereby meeting more potential customers, and we have a great time with engaged and generous hosts.

I’d encourage you to look at perhaps also partnering with a local group – be it a public television station brewery or other likely host – for the film. Mr. Burns’ makes extremely high quality films in which we all have something to learn.

p.s. keep in mind the top 3 things women want via beer that these events will accomplish: education, social setting and value.

3. Host regular women’s open houses to feature your beers.

4. Find other locations like local restaurants, growers and farms and retailers to host an event and feature your beers to women.

5. Start a women’s beer affinity group. Use only ‘Women’ or ‘Females’, not girls, babes, chicks, etc.

6. Make sure your business has a proper representation of women and women working there. Women = 50.9% of the population.

7. Use your story to sell your beer. They can buy anything in that glass – the story sells.

8. Always have a variety – DON’T RUN OUT!!! Outs are bad if they’re on the menu. Change the menu immediately upon running out.

9. Use signage. Signs are silent sales people.

10. Capitalize on events already happening in your area – like American Craft Beer Week, festivals, parades, family events and so forth.

And one more – because there are hundreds:

Have a dedicated and knowledgeable marketing person on board. You can’t afford not to.

My conundrum is this.

There is SO MUCH information to share that I’ll need to pass it along, parcel it out gradually. Julia, Jill, Bradley, Chris, Gary, Nancy, Andy, Paul, Charlie, Mark, Erin and all the rest…what an incredibly engaged and amazing group of people.

Media Luncheon, Farm To Table, tasting, meeting, connect, Pints for Prostates, PBS, Siebel, etc. Whew!

So today’s tidbit is this.

The festival increased its floor space by 46% this year. When cruising the first night, Thursday, it felt bigger and we noticed right away.

The aisles are wider and more accommodating

The congestion in front of the can’t-miss-this-beer booths easier to navigate due to increased space

And in general an excellent change

More beers, more space, more revelers, more people enjoying beer.

Having been on the other side of the booth in the past, I’d venture a guess the breweries really appreciated the extra space too.

More soon.

WEB will be collaborating with Boulevard Brewing for a focus group, hosting a private event (tasting pairing/recreational – group of friends), and collaborating again – this time with Gordon Biersch for a focus group.

Looks to be a fabulous line up!

Deidre with a good beer

A hearty, glass raised thank you to all who indicated interest, offered to collaborate or help, and enthusiastically are wanting to further the idea of real women drinking beer.

The response speaks to the fact that there are lots of engaged people – professionally and personally – who are interested in women & beer.

Let’s recruit more.

KC is a big beer town in many ways and I am very excited to be there. We’ll be back in fact in September again – so if you missed it this time, get in touch, tell me how you want to work together – business wise or personally.

Look for St. Louis or your city soon as well as men’s focus groups. Tell me what you want and we can make it happen.
